Introduction

“I have often been downcast, but never in despair;
In my diary I treat all the privations as amusing.
I have made up my mind now to lead a different life from other people and,
later on, different from ordinary men. My start has been so very full of interest,
and that is the sole reason why I have to laugh at the humorous side of the most dangerous moments.”

Me

< William Heng
I don't think there's anything wrong with my name.
If you think you know me, read my blog and think again.
I'm imperfect and I'm Lovin' It.
I'm the only witness and the only person who can judge my life.

With smooth music plugged into one's ears. There listens a man whose life is filled with people, but suddenly feels lonesome. All these people only serve to crush myself between their oppression, the sappy love songs in his ears makes his days seem all the more tragic.
One never knows. Will my first step end in a hurtful stumble? Can all those bits and pieces put together withstand the single one time when the thunderstorm strikes? I will become the man in my poem, destined to walk along his favourite stretch of trees, as his tears merge with the cold raindrops, so that no one can see him cry, no one shall spot his weakness. My sobs will be drowned by the roar of thunder. Even when I fall and split my skin against the biting concrete ground, the rainwater mingles with my blood, they will seek out the nearest drain, and bring me along with them, to the frosty dark depths of the water bodies. Over there, my corpse shall never be found, my existence forgotten...

Delightful. Just brilliant. It was the school's Inter-class games this afternoon, and I spent the whole few hours supporting 3Achieve's all-female soccer team. To tell the truth, it was an afternoon well spent. I've just realised, this is the first time I've seen an all-female soccer team kickoff in person, a new experience for me. The significance in 'sportsmanship' really shined here. How the girls were so close-knitted in order to play out their best game is something which brings me to remember the power of harmony. Away with big philosophies... Basically, this afternoon was really joyous. Well, partially, I was there also because my duties and status in the class committee required my presence as a form of morale support. Or at least that's what the girls are saying.

That's Farhana running in the far end. The one in pink shorts.

What a busy day. One can only look forward to the holidays as the light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, I do not think that to be so.

Well, anyway. I haven't engaged in poetry for a long time. Here's another shot at it, inspired by an eerie moon seen a day before Mid-Autumn Festival.

An Overshadowed Moon

Misty beings descend upon the pyres,
Tonight the Moon shall speak,
Listen for she is no liar.
Below, gentle waves have the ancient wooden jetty creak.

Clouds conceal the truth,
That ominous howl was from the shadowed wolf.
Towards our wrongs the heavens weep,
Down the face of the Moon fresh red blood shall drip.

Deep in the trees hide a deafening silence,
A sound so perturbing and static,
Between the white keys of a piano is a black virulence,
Reflections in calm pond waters are but panic.

Thick vapour usurps the sphere of light in the sky,
Guilty eyes turn bleary,
In the distance a violin string snaps and releases a desperate cry,
While heavy hearts sink in their scarlet ferries.

Fumes of the skies drift away,
The Truthsayer will reveal today,
Even after the orb of the night is safe from being slain,
Reflections of an Overshadowed Moon in the pond they shall remain.

~Under the glare of moonlight,
William ends this poem.

Heads up. October is the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM). Do your part for the community and your love ones by increasing awareness into the disease's cause, prevention, and cure. Be sure to encourage those within the high-risk range to take a health test in order to save their lives. Remember, breast cancer is the world's top-second killer cancer among women. Protect the females you love, and that will be today.

Alright, karma paragraph over. But do take note, it IS NBCAM this month.

Next.

Haven't been posting for the past few days. Guess I was too busy cooling myself off after the exams. Mostly I read, or went out on trips with friends. Has anyone of you ever tried exploring Singapore's very own Changi Airport? It's a good NE learning trip (or delusional-and-not-thinking-straight trip). In any case, not as if people don't know me to try out weird things sometimes. Looking at such fine pieces of engineering such as airplanes is enlightening though. What's more, Terminal 3 does have a shopping complex in its basement.

And my reply to this : "I would rather watch paint dry." ~Crank that mouth of yours close, Phil.

MRT station at Changi Airport Terminal 2. Brilliant architecture.

I still don't get it. Whoever thought hanging air-con ventilation shaft covers on the ceiling of Terminal 3 was a good idea?

Terminal 1, although old, still has construction going on in its Viewing Hall. And look at those planes! I can spot Silkair and Qantas from here!

Just taking a photo for Min Min near the Terminal 2 check-in counter... pardon the 2-megapixel fail-ness.

But the visit to the airport was just about only the brighter side of day. Happenings in the morning has brought realisations towards friendship to a whole new level. Now...not that I've not had my share of friend trouble, but I had not earlier anticipated that the female side of this problem would have different causes and approaches to such matters. Sometimes a difference in interest can steer everybody off the tracks. While for guys, we prefer to straighten things out quick. Tactless? Not quite. We just don't want to beat around the bush. Both sexes will always have something to learn from each other, I suppose. Learning how to pee while standing up isn't included though. That is OUR advantage.

Frederick has gotten himself into some gruesome wounds recently. A left thumb bundled up in huge bandages, amazing. And Chang Rong always seems to be spraining his legs during our sessions of basketball. Injuring your hands in a game that requires your legs, spraining your legs in a sport which uses mainly, the hands. Again, amazing. As for myself, I cannot emphasise further the importance of proper warming-up of our muscles before vigorous exercise. It does help to prevent cramps afterwards.

Now that it's after the exams. A lot of people are starting to moan about not having enough things to do. That'll will change in due course, with the Bridging Programme coming up. However, academics aside. I do think it's time for most of us to pick up something new to learn or a new hobby to occupy ourselves. Time wasted is life wasted. So buck up.

Alright then, it's done. It's over. The examinations have finally left my scope of focus, for now. However, the pace is not to be relaxed, for we still have busy days ahead.

The life of 3Achieve seems to have been consistently preoccupied with the Charity Bazaar in recent days, and I'm sure all that starts well, will end well. But I wouldn't really call the situation 3Achieve is facing as something of a good start, would I? Apparently not, but I do hope that something that does not start well can still flourish in the end.

Some of the fault probably lies with the scheduling of the Charity Bazaar that has generated the frustration and impatience as such. When people get anxious over something that's running out of time to complete, there's bound to be disagreements and tantrums being thrown all over. It is during such times when the characters of people rear their ugly ends. But isn't it normal for everyone to have an uglier side? No one is a saint, isn't that the case? It is the passing of these obstacles that bond people together, but they can also break these bonds (due to the weak intermolecular forces of attraction...).

In any case, learn to bear with people who ignites dislike in you, but there's no reason for any one of us to be a meek little lamb. You can still give constructive criticism to any person you prefer, if they don't like it, treat it as if it's their problem, just like what Lana Turner said, "A gentleman is simply a patient wolf."

Well, this is an update on things happening topside.

Went to Yue Ling's house today with the other 5 in Charity Bazaar, our food products seem to taste fine (And it better stay that way), our Tikam board is going well, or should I say, completed.

That's Jane holding the Tikam board. Kin Hong on the extreme left (bless him for coming over to help). And the one that looks to be almost dozing off in the middle is Shermaine, whose sole purpose for going over to Yue Ling's house seems to be to sprawl herself over the sofa and sleep. Not that I mind, she did help with some of the things.

On a final note, exams are over! Hah.
